What Indochino says
- The Help Center lists canvas as a customization with two levels. Half Canvas: "This option will include canvassing in the upper half of the jacket, as well as in the jacket's lapel." Unconstructed: "Unconstructed jackets only include canvassing in the shoulders." The page lists no fused option and no upcharge.1

A ten-year quality audit published 2026-08-20 states that "Indochino product pages do not consistently give enough canvas detail to justify broad claims" and advises buyers to "Ask what construction is used for the exact fabric and tier you are considering."4

How to tell in the store (and what the pinch test cannot prove)
- The standard instruction: pinch the sleeve first for a baseline, because sleeves are never canvassed, then pinch the cloth below the lowest buttonhole and pull the layers apart. Three layers means a canvas is floating inside; two layers means fused.89
- The catch most brand pages leave out: on a half-canvassed jacket the front below the second button is fused anyway, so a low pinch on a half-canvas jacket feels exactly like a fused one.
