How do Indochino alterations and reimbursement work?

What Indochino says
- Fit claims must be raised within 14 days of receiving the order; after that, "claims cannot be accepted".1
- Free alterations exist only in a showroom: complimentary in-store alterations via a booked "Final Look appointment", with the swing tags still attached to the garments.1
- With no showroom nearby you pay your own tailor and claim it back. Published caps: two-piece suit $75 USD / $75 CAD / $100 AUD; three-piece suit $100 / $100 / $120; jacket or blazer $50 / $50 / $65; pants $25 / $25 / $35; shirt $25 / $25 / $30; vest $25 / $25 / $20; outerwear $50 / $50 / $65.2
- Reimbursement is geographically limited: "We can only accept alterations claims within Canada, United States, and Australia at this time."2
- If the tailor's quote is above the cap you are told to stop: "Should the quote from a third-party tailor exceed the reimbursement limits for your order, please do not proceed with alterations."2
- Receipts must be itemized with the business name, address and date; fully handwritten receipts are not accepted. You open a claim with Customer Experience and are then given a receipt deadline.3
- No returns and no refunds on made-to-measure: "Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of your INDOCHINO garments, we do not accept returns nor offer refunds."4
- A remake is not published as a stated entitlement. The help centre's Alterations category routes fit problems to alterations and reimbursement, not to a remake guarantee.5

The shop states an average total suit alteration of $165.8
- A mid-market shop list (Sew Boise, Idaho, dated January 2022) prices a plain trouser hem at $18, tapering a coat or blazer at the sides or back at $40, shortening shirt sleeves at $18–$25, with a $10 minimum invoice, a $10 surcharge per seam set on lined garments, and rush fees of 30% (72 hours), 50% (24–72 hours) and 100% (under 24 hours).9
- Airtasker's US cost guide estimates a hem at $15–$35, a basic sleeve shortening or lengthening at $30–$70, waist work at $25–$50, a two-seam leg taper at $25–$45 and side seams at $45–$85. The page is titled for 2026 but its body is dated March 2022.10
- Thumbtack puts the national average cost of a tailoring job at $73–$232, with hemming or cuffing at $73–$107 and shortening or lengthening sleeves or pant legs at $82–$122. Are Indochino alterations free?
Only in a showroom, at a booked Final Look appointment with the tags still on. Anywhere else you pay a tailor first and claim back up to the published cap, $75 for a two-piece suit 12.
How long do I have to report a fit problem to Indochino?
14 days from receiving the order. After that, claims cannot be accepted 1.
Can I return an Indochino suit that does not fit?
No. Indochino does not accept returns or offer refunds on its made-to-measure garments, because each is cut to the measurements and options on your account. The remedy is alteration or reimbursement 4.
Does Indochino reimburse alterations outside the US?
Only in Canada, the United States and Australia. Claims from elsewhere are not accepted at this time 2.
What if my tailor quotes more than the reimbursement cap?
Indochino asks you not to proceed. If the quote exceeds the limit for your order, stop and contact Customer Experience instead 2.
