Is it cheaper to get a suit made in Thailand or Istanbul?
Thailand is cheaper for genuinely well-made work: $400–$900 for half/full-canvas versus $400–$1,000 in Istanbul. Bangkok dominates; Phuket/Pattaya/Chiang Mai run the same package-deal model with more aggression and less skill. Real canvas work clusters in a few named Bangkok houses.
Thailand or Istanbul — where is the suit quality better?
Thailand: mixed market — fused common, canvas exists — The tourist economy is fused package deals; the respected Bangkok houses do genuine canvas at mid prices. Outside Bangkok, quality drops fast. Istanbul: half/full canvas if you ask the right shop — Nişantaşı ateliers cut serious canvassed suits; Grand Bazaar tourist shops are a different (fused) economy.
