What Suitsupply says
- Suitsupply's published Tier 1 supplier list, described in its own header as "an overview of all CMT factories that made our Suitsupply collections in 2019", names eight suit factories: Dalian Moda Fashion (Dalian, China, partner since 2013, 621 workers); Wenzhou Ceyadi Garments, Wenzhou JYY Garment, Wenzhou Sharmoon EZ Garments, Wenzhou Smart Creations Apparel and Zhejiang Pieedenton Dress (all Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China); Famoso Clothing (Yangon, Myanmar, since 2015); and Nha Be Garment Corporation (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, since 2017, 576 workers). CMT means cut-make-trim contractors.2
- The same 2019 list shows shirts made by Dalian Zhenyu Garment (Dalian) and trousers by Wenzhou Yiyi Garments (Shengzhou, Zhejiang); the Italian Tier 1 sites on the list make ties, denim, shoes, gloves, belts and bags rather than suits.2
- Suitsupply submitted the production data behind its Fair Wear check, discloses 100% of production locations on Fair Wear's transparency portal, and has signed the Transparency Pledge.1

- The Fair Wear Foundation Brand Performance Check for Suit Supply B.V., covering 1 January to 31 December 2024, lists production countries by number of locations and share of volume: China 15 locations / 72.76%; Italy 9 / 14.99%; Portugal 3 / 4.79%; Mauritius 2 / 2.53%; Myanmar 1 / 2.43%; India 1 / 1.58%; Indonesia 1 / 0.93%.1
- The same report counts 32 active suppliers, with 96.38% of production volume coming from suppliers where Suitsupply has at least 10% leverage.1
- Suitsupply does not own its factories. The report states the brand "maintains exclusive agreements with most of its suppliers, meaning the suppliers only produce for Suitsupply", in exchange for long-term stability and multi-year capacity booking; Fair Wear's own note adds that "in most apparel supply chains, clothing brands do not own product locations".1
- The report says Suitsupply "has diversified its sourcing strategy to reduce reliance on China", and that it continues to source 2.43% of FOB from a supplier in Myanmar post-coup, having decided to stay because of the long-standing relationship and the skill level of the workforce.1
What is out of date
- The Vietnam suit factory (Nha Be Garment, Ho Chi Minh City) appears in the 2019 supplier list but Vietnam does not appear in the calendar-2024 production-country table, so Vietnam sewing for Suitsupply appears to have ended or fallen out of the list between 2019 and 2024. The 2019 list should not be read as the current roster.21
Cloth vs sewing
- The Italy figure in the Fair Wear table (9 locations, 14.99% of volume) is sewing volume, not fabric. An Italian mill named on a product page is the origin of the cloth, not of the garment.1

A minority are: Italy accounted for 9 production locations and 14.99% of Suitsupply's 2024 production volume, against 72.76% in China 1. Suitsupply's own 2019 factory list shows its suit contractors in China, Myanmar and Vietnam, with the Italian sites making accessories, shoes and denim 2.
Does Suitsupply own its factories?
No. Its Fair Wear report describes exclusive agreements and multi-year capacity booking with most suppliers, not ownership 1.
Which city in China?
