What Jos. A. Bank publishes
- The fit guide has no measurements on it. Four fits are described in words only; no numerical measurements are provided in the guide, and josbank.com/size-chart returns a 404.1
- The four fits, verbatim: Skinny Fit "our most close-fitting silhouette is slim across the chest, shoulders, and sleeves, with a low rise and narrow leg openings"; Slim Fit "A form-fitting suit that elongates your frame"; Tailored Fit "Somewhere between our Slim and Traditional Fits… giving you the room you need without feeling too snug"; Traditional Fit "our standard cut that delivers optimal comfort, providing plenty of room for life on the go".1
- What it does publish is relative rather than absolute: rise is "Low rise" for Skinny and Slim, "Mid rise" for Tailored and "Waistband at waist" for Traditional, and the leg opening widens across the same run.1
- There is a fifth fit the guide never mentions: Regal Fit, sold as its own shop category and described in the big-and-tall material as "their most generous cut" for a stouter build. A buyer reading only the fit guide will never meet it.23
- The big-and-tall page is where the actual numbers live: suits, sportcoats and tuxedos at chest 44–60; dress shirts tall from 16½ neck / 37 sleeve through 20 / 36, and big from 18 / 33 to 20 / 35; Regal dress pants at waist 40–50 with short, regular and long rises, and the overall run extending to a 56 waist with a 32 inseam; sportshirts and sweaters 2XL–5XLB (5XLB = chest 70–72, waist 64–66, sleeve 38½); shoes to size 16.3
- The brand draws the big-versus-tall line explicitly: "tall" means a longer frame and "big"/Regal a stouter build with a larger abdomen — two different corrections, not one.3
- No big-and-tall surcharge is stated on that page as of September 2026. That is an absence noted, not a promise that none exists.3
If you get the size wrong
- Returns run 90 days: "you may return or exchange your purchase within 90 days of purchase in-store or within 90 days from original date of purchase for online orders". Monogrammed and final-sale items are excluded, and past 90 days it is manager discretion and in-store credit only.4
- Alterations are the cheaper fix for a near-miss: Jos. A. Bank and Men's Wearhouse share a parent and publish an identical alterations price list, so a hem or a sleeve is a $20–$35 problem rather than a return.5
