What Zara publishes
- There is no single men's size chart page. Both zara.com/us/en/help-center/size-guide and the exchanges-returns help page return "PAGE NOT FOUND". Sizing is published per product, behind a PRODUCT MEASUREMENTS link on each product page — which is why every "Zara size chart" on the English internet is a third-party reconstruction.1
- The panel is headed "BODY MEASUREMENTS — Select your size to view body measurements" and renders as a dashed tape line drawn across a photo rather than a table, with an IN / CM toggle.1
- Only one dimension is published for a suit blazer: chest. No waist, no sleeve, no jacket length, no shoulder — so a buyer cannot check sleeve or body length before it arrives.1
- "This item runs small." is printed by Zara itself, above the size list on the 100% Wool Regular-Fit Suit Blazer.2
- The same flag is absent from the 100% Wool Suit Blazer (slim fit) at the same price on the same shelf. So the meme is brand-stated, but per item and not a blanket brand property.1
- Zara runs both size conventions on one shelf: the slim blazer sells XS / S / M / L with no numeric option at all, while the regular-fit blazer sells sizes written as "36 (US 36)", "38 (US 38)", "40 (US 40)" and up.12
- The EU premise is wrong for zara.com/us. Zara's US site does not label men's suit blazers in EU 48/50; the menu reads "38 (US 38)". Zara's number is the US number here, and any page telling a US buyer to subtract 10 is wrong for this site.2
- The published chest ladder moves 1.6 in (4 cm) per size while the label moves 2: 36 → 37.0", 38 → 38.6", 40 → 40.2", 42 → 41.7", 44 → 43.3". That is the European ready-to-wear body grid (94 / 98 / 102 / 106 / 110 cm) relabelled with US numbers, and it means Zara is more generous than its label below about size 40 and progressively tighter above it.2
- No jacket lengths at all. There is no R/S/L dimension anywhere in a Zara blazer size menu, only a single length per size, and no big-and-tall suiting range. For a tall or short buyer that is the decisive fact.2
- Trousers have no waist × inseam either: the 100% Wool Suit Pants sell XS / S / M / L, with published body waists of 27.6", 29.1", 31.5" and 33.9". If you get the size wrong
- Returns run 30 days, and the online clock starts at shipment, not delivery or purchase: "Online purchase: you have 30 days from the shipment date of your order."4
- Returning is free in store and $4.95 by mail, deducted from the refund; items must be in original condition with all labels, returned in the market where you bought them.4
- A size exchange is free and can be done online — but with a trap: "The return period for the merchandise you do not want is 14 days from the exchange request. If this period has passed and we have not received the items… you will be charged the amount of the new items." Zara ships the new size as a new order and bills you for both if the old one is late.5
- Online exchange is blocked for several payment methods — PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, Diners Club, P24, gift card, Apple Pay and Android Pay — so paying with Apple Pay leaves a store visit as the only size swap. Limit: two exchange requests at a time, five items per request.5

Does Zara run small?
Sometimes, and Zara tells you which items: "This item runs small." is printed above the size list on the regular-fit wool blazer and absent from the slim-fit one at the same price 21. It is a per-item flag, not a brand property.
Is a Zara 38 really a EU 48?
Not on zara.com/us. The menu reads "38 (US 38)" — Zara's number is the US number there 2. Advice to subtract 10 from a Zara size is wrong for the US site.
Why do bigger Zara blazers feel tighter?
Because the chest ladder steps 4 cm (1.6") per size while the label steps 2" 2. Below about size 40 Zara is more generous than its label; above it, progressively tighter. A 38" buyer and a 44" buyer can both be right about opposite things.
